The Challenge A top quartile southern private equity firm engaged Equity Risk Partners to undertake a review of a target company’s property and casualty, and employee benefits insurance programs. The target company is the leading owner and operator of media billboards at numerous collegiate sports venues across the country. Since the company participated in the seller’s (a Forbes 400 private investor) master global insurance program, the company required new insurance programs at closing. Our client contacted us three weeks prior to closing not knowing that the target company’s insurance programs were commingled with its parent company. Our Solution Equity Risk Partners moved quickly and performed its rigorous due diligence while we simultaneously marketed new insurance programs prior to close. We were able to gather the exposure and historical claim information from the seller and leverage our insurance carrier relationships in order to procure options in less than fourteen days. We placed coverage for NewCo on time and in line with our stand alone insurance program premium projections developed during the due diligence process. In addition, a comprehensive employee benefits program for the acquisition was ready for the close date. |
